I joined the English Department I in the summer of 2026. I am currently a PhD student at the University of Cologne, teaching courses in English literary and cultural studies. I previously completed a Bachelor's degree in English Studies and Media Culture Studies, and a Master's degree in English Studies and Comparative Literature, both at the University of Cologne.
My PhD project “Literary Afterlives of the Zong massacre” (working title) explores literary engagements with the legal archive and cultural memory of the Zong massacre of 1781. In particular, I am researching how the archive and abolitionist efforts have (mis)shaped British cultural memory of the massacre, and to what extent literary re-engagements of the twentieth and twenty-first century intervene in or reshape this cultural memory.
